We are please to announce that Pastor Mykel Trahan has founded the Gospel Hip Hop Association (GHHA). The
Gospel Hip Hop Association is established as a board of credentialing, accountability and promotion for
Contemporary, Rap, R & B, Gospel Hip Hop record companies, artists, songwriters, individuals, art forms and forms
of expression such as dance, music, videos, movies, fashion, graphics, paintings, drawings and print media as well
as the lifestlyles and character of the artists. The GHHA will govern, minister, and preserve the spirit of holiness, high
morals, excellence and artistic expression within the gospel hip hop community. The GHHA will screen all applicants
for biblical consistency, accuracy, morals and holiness by a board of prolific elders, pastors, ministers, record
company executives, entertainers and professionals. All members of the GHHA will receive GHHA credentials and
licensure of the use of the GHHA logo to identify themselves as a member.
To The Artists
The GHHA is another initiative to "Bridge Da Gap" between the youth culture and the church. The religious
community is sometimes cautious and confused about the biblical credibility of contemporary and hip hop gospel art
forms. Many of you have been banned from churches and have been driven to go "underground" to express your
creativity. The reason for this is the healthy fear of God that Pastors and church leaders have. Most of the time they
are unaware of what your intentions and motives are and if you are really "saved". They have good reason to feel that
way because they realize that we are truly in the last days; they are on high alert for tactics of the enemy infiltrating the
church. Pastors are charged by God to preserve holiness within their flocks.
The GHHA is formed so that ministries will be able to clearly identify "who is who". Churches are aware that some
artists are not serious about the gospel, but just using gospel music to "cross over" and really break into secular
music. If you are a member of the GHHA, bearing the logo on your materials, correspondences and products, the
Body of Christ will know that you are "credentialed", answering to a credible board of accountability and that you are
not just "out there". More doors will open for you to perform, sell products and minister.
To The Church
The GHHA understands the concerns that ministers and ministries have about guarding true holiness and the flock
of God. However, through our findings, the youth respond positively to Hip Hop Gospel music and culture. Gospel
Hip Hop music, used in a wise way is a tremendous tool for saving souls and building the Kingdom of God. Some of
you may say, "If Jesus be lifted up from the earth, He will draw all men unto Him." Truly stated, but how can they hear
except from a preacher? How can he preach except he be sent? If we lift up the name of Jesus in Chinese and we
are all English speaking, we would feel the presence of God, but would not be edified because we can't understand
the Chinese language. It is the same with the youth, they speak another language; they are on another frequency.
Their energy level is higher than that of older people. We must meet them where they are. The Hip Hop frequency is
their language.
The GHHA understands the concerns of both artists and the church. We will strive to establish clarity, advocacy,
identifying artists, individuals and organizations who uphold the art of holiness and artistic expression within their
craft wthout treading outside the parameters of bible principle. We will license those entities the use of our logo so
that you, the church will know that they are accredited sheep of the Most High God.

WHO MAY APPLY?
Organizations, ministries, businesses, records companies, designers, visual and audio artists, musicians, vocalists,
choirs, songwriters, individuals, playwriters, television, movie and radio producers/companies and stations all may
apply.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
It may take up to 30 days to process your application.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Memberships are annual. There is a one-time non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
Membership fee is only refundable if application is denied.
For individuals the membership fee is $100.00
Organizations with employees/members of 1-200 the fee is $175.00
Organizatons with employees/members of 200-500 the fee is $250.00
Oranizations with employees/members of 500 and above the fee is $325.00
